Lecture by Oleksandra Matviichuk «Freedom Is Not Given – Defending Human Dignity in Times of War»

Ukrainian human rights lawyer and head of the Center for Civil Liberties (2022 Nobel Peace Prize laureate) Oleksandra Matviichuk delivers a keynote lecture at the University of Cologne. She will address the defense of human dignity during wartime, documentation of war crimes, institutional limits of international law, and the role of civil society. The lecture will be followed by a discussion with Prof. Dr. Angelika Nußberger, former Vice-President of the European Court of Human Rights, and an open Q&A session. Language: English.
